John and I had ambitious cookie plans yesterday afternoon when we decided to bake ginger cookies, christmas cut out cookies ala Kyle , and rugelach. There was icing involved, food coloring and rolling. Very complicated. We made the rugelach from the Cooks Illustrated magazine, and though it took forever and was a lot of work, they tasted great! The only mysterious thing was how to roll the dough without it falling apart and cracking. One of the rugelach achieved nirvana as it matched the dream rugelach that John has in his imagination. Hurrah!
