I made John Polito a hat and scarf for his birthday, a little late. I used Karabella's Margrite bulky yarn in checked basket stitch from Barbara Walker's A Treasury of Knitting Patterns. The problem with the pattern was that it kept curling, so I sewed the two halves together and left a loop in the middle to thread the scarf through. The hat is actually the second in a series of birthday hats... he originally wanted a bucket hat, so I made a bucket hat, but it looked funny, so I made a beanie hat, which also looks funny. Oh well.
In the background, see Gus with a white bandana on. He is still scratching his back into a bloody mess, so I tied this around his neck and he seems to not mind it so much. Hopefully it will last the night.

The hats are awesome. The scarf is awesome. Awesome!
